1848 Lewis Cass. DeWitt-LC 1848-1. White metal. 41 mm. MS-61 PL (NGC).，Lustrous light pewter gray supports sharp prooflike reflectivity in the most protected areas. A few scattered marks, largely in the obverse fields, account for the grade. Bright with excellent eye appeal. A large die crack on the reverse is noted as seen on all restrikes, which were produced circa 1860 in white metal, copper, and silver. The Ford Collection did not have this type in restrike format in this composition, though silver and copper examples were included.，From the Brian Dobbins Collection of American Political Tokens.
