1856 Millard Fillmore. DeWitt-MF 1856-1. Bronzed copper. 38.0 mm. Mint State.，Glossy mahogany surfaces are nicely preserved save for a few scattered spots of hard verdigris. The luster is almost fully intact, even on the highest points of the relief. It is double struck and rotated between impressions, with somewhat strong artifacts of the first strike clearly seen on both sides. According to Sullivan, Satterlee reported that just six examples were struck in copper. One of them was in the Ford Collection, but they are clearly prohibitively rare.
