1909 Hudson-Fulton Celebration Medal. Silver. 101.8 mm. By Emil Fuchs. Miller-23. Mint State.，Edge marked STERLING and WHITEHEAD-HOAG. A lovely example, originally preserved in pewter gray with only a few stray handling marks and trivial edge nicks. This is the largest size Hudson-Fulton medal produced, the mintage for silver impressions 1,000 pieces with distribution to Commission members and principal guests. Three hundred and forty two examples were returned to Whitehead & Hoag by the Commission, leaving a net distribution of 658 pieces. Housed in the original felt-lined leather case imprinted in gilt on the front cover: HUDSON-FULTON / CELEBRATION / 1909. The case is in Very Fine condition, the clasp not fully functional, the leather on the rear edge cracked around the hinges, an internal chip, and some light scuff on the top and bottom.
