Nearly as made.，There are two neat holes for a suspension ribbon or nails at top, probably as manufactured.<p>One of two rare medals by Pierre-Jean David of Angers in this sale, this of noted French soldier Alexandre Theodore Victor, Comte de Lameth, who served as a young soldier under General Rochambeau in the American Revolution. The ideals he and others witnessed in America were brought home to France and undoubtedly helped fuel the French Revolution. He later served in France under General Lafayette, and was befriended and admired by Thomas Jefferson. A number of his French speeches regarding the ideals of liberty were published in American newspapers.<p>This David medallion is unusual in that it has even higher relief than his typical high relief medals, projecting some 28 mm above the surface. A lifetime cast from original molds, and quite rare as such as most of Davids pieces offered in recent years have been aftercasts.，，
