1855 Braided Hair Cent. N-1. Rarity-3. Upright 5s. MS-65+ RB (PCGS).，This is an exceptional example that would do justice to the finest variety set of Braided Hair cents. Both sides are predominantly lustrous with vivid rose-orange color dominating the appearance. Toning is minimal, mottled gray-brown overtones doing little more than defining the RB designation from PCGS. Central design elements are boldly to sharply defined, the borders likewise apart from minor softness in a few isolated areas. Smooth, satiny and attractive in all regards, this coin is worthy of the strongest bids. Noyes Die State B/A.<p>A significant coin for the variety enthusiast, this piece possesses more vivid color than the D. Brent Pogue specimen of the 1855 N-1 certified PCGS MS-65 RB and offered as lot 5223 in our March 2017 sale of that collection. The Pogue specimen is tied for CC#1 in the Grellman Census and is also ranked atop the Noyes listings. The present example, a newcomer to the modern numismatic market, is a strong contender for CC#1.，From the Lux Family Collection, begun as early as the 1850s.，
