Thin ribbons of champagne-pink peripheral toning frame brilliant surfaces that reveal intense satin luster as the coin rotates under a light. Sharply, if not fully struck throughout and certainly at the uppermost reaches of the assigned grade level. Our multiple offerings of Choice examples in this sale notwithstanding, the 1879-CC is scarce in the finer Mint State grades by Morgan dollar standards.
