Sharply struck, as well, and exceptionally well preserved in a survivor of this otherwise readily obtainable issue. A high mintage (12,290,000 circulation strikes) date that enjoyed a large distribution from federal holdings, the 1883 has been one of the most plentiful Morgan dollars in Mint State since at least the 1950s. As with most issues in this series, there is a grade level at which examples become rare from a condition standpoint. For the 1883 that grade level is MS-67 or, for the more liberal observer, MS-66+. As a premium quality Superb Gem, the coin offered here ranks among the finest certified and would serve as a highlight in virtually any Morgan dollar set.，，
