Well struck apart from a touch of softness to the central high points, the overall smooth appearance to both sides sets this coin apart from the vast majority of 1896-S dollars extant. Although this issues mintage of 5,000,0000 pieces is respectable by any measure, it is scarce even in lower Mint State grades.
