The fields are noticeably reflective, although the devices are set apart with more of a satiny texture. Fully struck throughout with superior eye appeal for a lightly circulated early date Liberty Head eagle. After only the 1847-O, the 1843-O is the most common New Orleans Mint ten from the 1840s. It is a much rarer issue than the 1847-O in high grades (read: AU and Mint State), however, the present AU-58 numbering among the finest realistically obtainable for most of todays advanced Southern gold enthusiasts.,,
