PMG Very Fine 30.，Any offering of this high-denomination red seal type is always important as they are simply rare in general. This Danville $100 red seal is one of just eight pieces known for the entire state. Seen with a portrait vignette of John J. Knox at left, a portrait always admired by numismatists as he was himself one, having also published one of the earliest paper money references titled "United States Notes" in 1885. The present note retains lovely appeal for the assigned grade with bold banking signatures and overprints. A few minor margin repairs are observed with mention of "Minor Repairs" in the comment section of the PMG holder. This 1002 numbered note has not seen an appearance at a public auction since 1997, making it all the more important of an opportunity.，，
